Question by Sufjan Rules: Do I need an electric shaver at my age?
I am 17, a senior in high school. I shave every day, but my hair is not extremely thick or crowded around my face. Are electric shavers more for people that grow thick hair and will grow a beard in a day or two? Should I stick to a simple manual shaver?

Question by Maggie: What brand of electric shaver do you guys recommend?
So I am thinking of buying my husband an electric shaver for Christmas (we’ve made it a tradition to wait until boxing day to buy gifts for each other) and I have no clue which one is (or which ones are) good. It would preferably have some grooming attachments because he has a mustache-goatee thing (not sure what to call it lol)

But anyway what brands do you guys recommend? Why do you recommend them?

Thanks for the help!

Question by jake: What is the best electric shaver for a teen with acne?
I have moderate acne and, unfortunately, my beard slightly overlaps into the acne area. I’ve tried blade razors, but they shave by going under the skin, which is bad for acne. Electrics just shave on top of the skin, which is less irritating.

Also, I have a pretty tough beard and I had an electric shaver but it didnt get all the hairs. I want something that is not irritating priced between $ 90-$ 140 and has a good guarantee. If it does not give me a close shave or irritates my skin, my main concern is the ability to return it for a full refund

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I’ll propose Philips (3-blade) that came around about three years ago (at least here where I come from).

I’m getting paid for this, for all I know.

Question by : What are the best electric shavers for sensitive skin out there?
I’m tired of shaving with a blade. My chin/neck area seems to break out everytime I shave and it sucks.Any recommendations on electric shavers? Which ones work better around the neck area? Rotary or foil shavers? I’ve heard that the 3 rotary blade system is best.My main concern is the chin/neck area.It always gets irritated because I have to go over the same spots several times and then it turns pimply and red.It looks like I’m a teenager with acne.HELP!

In my honest opinion the are no electirc razors for sensitive skin. Try using a razor for sensetive skin with shaving cream made for sensitive skin. Or try using a ladies razor.
When done shaving use some moisterizer .

Question by : Do electric shavers stop shaving cuts nicks/cuts?
I don’t mean the old fasioned ones with a motor on them, I mean those big ones. The ones with mesh and a blade behind it. I don’t see how it could cut you if the blade never comes in contact with the skin. The only damage it would do I would imagine is tug a hair out, and thats not that major! So yeah… Do those electric shavers stop cutting ?

Oh and another question. I haven’t started needing to shave yet, I’m 14. But when I run my finger over the skin under my nose very lightly (without even touching the skin) I can feel very fine hairs… Almost like a cars fur. Yeah, as clear as mud eh! But if you understand what I mean does that mean I have to start shaving soon ? If so how soon ? Thanks.

-Jamie.
Oh and also just as a matter of interest is the rotary one good as well ? Or does it cut your skin more easially than foil ?

They can nick. That depends on the brand. Those that have foils (that is very thin holed metal that covers the cutting block or rotors)can when it wears a hole in the foil. This cuts. The other downside is they cause you to go over the same area to cut all whiskers. This makes skin red and irritated. Some guys don’t like going over a bunch.I suggest getting a Norelco.Got one as a B-day
present. They won’t wear out the foil cause of different design.

Question by Rathaford: Of the more expensive electric shavers (approx 0) which razor is the best Braun or Norelco? or other?
I can’t decide which razor to purchase. I’ve heard Braun is a closer shave but I keep seeing the new Philips Norelco commercial. I have heard Norelco can be better for longer hairs.
