OH lord! Ruined leather shoes! need help!?
I brushed my "caterpillar holton dark brown Steel Toe boots" with shaving foam and then brushed them off with water, now they look a very light brown with certain parts of the boots looking darker with the original dark brown color.
I did not even slightly suspect they used dyes to color the leather, anything I can do to resolve my problem I.e. Restore the dark brown color and how? Looking for a simple fix that will give positive results.
thanks!
kind regards.
This is full grain leather. I don’t know if shoe polish will work i want to restore the original color and finish.

Only a shoe maker can help you here. What it will cost you, you may as well buy another pair

They can be re-dyed but that will ruing the finish of the leather. It will end up being rather hard and dry afterwards. I would just relagate them to working boot section of my closet and use them for dirty work.
